I began creating likenesses at a very early age,
discovering an ability to transfer what appeared in my
mind’s eye through my hands and onto the clay. I choose
subjects that capture my imagination, creating images
that resonate with my soul. Working the clay is a
refined form of prayer for me and touching the Divine.
Through sculpture, I join the work of my Creator,
shaping my truth, through my experiences, with my
hands. Art has a touch of eternity in it.
“Besides
purely figurative sculpture, I enjoy integrating people
with wildlife. So, through some of my art, I try to
draw the viewer into the piece, showing people as ‘a
part of nature’, not ‘apart from nature.”
“One of
the challenges is infusing a personality into my
subject. Getting that, ‘life’s essence’ just right
consumes my thoughts and dreams.
Every creator painfully experiences the chasm between
his inner
vision and its ultimate expression. ~ Isaac Bashevis

Traveling
frequently, I am often immersed in sensory experiences
that fuel my creative engine. My style is eclectic,
from representational to impressionist to abstract,
because to me, art presumes no creative limitations.
Artistically, I approach each work as a vague concept.
Then, in researching the nuances of the natural or
cultural context, a more coherent image begins to
coalesce in my mind’s eye.
